I've been a fan of Slayers since March, 2017 when I watched the first 3 seasons from the 90s. All of the characters are so endearing, but I'll always love Amelia and Zelgadis the most! Filia is an honorable mention, because I think she's so adorable, and I relate to her a lot. I hope to collect some figures of the characters. On my 18th birthday, I was gifted a collection of the first 3 seasons on DVD.
Zelgadis and Amelia's relationship has always been my favorite part of the series. They're adorable and I love their dynamic. Amelia was a naive princess who originally thought Zelgadis was bad because she thought he looked different and demon-like. Her mentor, Lina, told her not to judge people by looks. Amelia and Zelgadis teamed up on multiple occasions, formed a friendship, and Amelia eventually developed feelings for him. I'm not quite sure these feelings are returned, since Zelgadis is such a reserved person, but there are a few hints. At the end of Slayers TRY, we can see that Amelia gave Zelgadis one of her magic bracelets, and he keeps it around his water bottle.
Filia Ul Copt is a special character to me, as well. I really see myself in her for a number of reasons. She grew up very sheltered, and had some very ignorant views of the world. In fact, she seems to think she always knows what's best at first. Throughout the series, she grows out of this, and learns that her people weren't very good to others, like she thought all her life. The fact that she is over 100 years old, but is still an innocent young girl at heart is something I really feel as I've been growing up. I feel like I'll always be someone who is learning new things, no matter how old I am, just like Filia. She loves antiques, and I love them as well. The way I collect vintage toys is very similar to how excited she gets when she finds old vases and other vintage valuables. At the end of Slayers TRY, she opens a shop and adopts baby Valgaav. She's also good friends with a furry named Jillas, who is supposed to be a bad guy. She even seems to make peace with her sworn enemy, Xellos. Filia wants to see good in everyone, and I do as well.
